In different tour companies, some packages seem to be very cheap but don’t include anything other than a car and a driver. Please, be carefull!

2. Entrance Visa and extension
You must have your entrance Visa with a round trip ticket
You can also get your visa on arrival at the Airport by paying 58 Euros
NB:
- The longest visa you can get is for 3 months.
- For a Visa extension, you must fly out of Madagascar for another request, then fly back.

3. There are ATMs in every big city:
Tana (center)- Antsirabe (center) - Morondava (west coast) – Fianarantsoa(South) - Tulear (south West) - Tamatave (east coast) - Majunga (west coast) – Diego Suarez (North) – Nosy Be (North)
NB:
- The Visa Card is the best one to bring with you.
- Master Cards are rejected in many places.

5. Cost of food and mineral water in Madagascar:
1,5 liters of mineral water: 50 Euro cents; 60 cents in places further away from Tana.
Breakfast: from 3 Euros to 6 Euros; can be more in very luxurious restaurants
Lunch and dinner: from 4 Euros to 12 Euros; can be more in very luxurious restaurants.

6. Banks and shops: business hours
- Banks are open from Monday to Friday,
8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
- Supermarkets, shops and boutiques are open from Monday to Saturday (until Sunday morning for the supermarkets),
8:00 AM to 7:00 PM

7. The Weather:
- The weather is only bad from the middle of January until the end of February.
Being an Island, there can be cyclones in February and March.
Without any cyclones, you can visit Madagascar from March when the nature is still fresh if you want to avoid the more crowded June to September months.
- In the rainforests on the east coast of Madagascar there is a microclimate: sudden drizzles, short but heavy rain…So you need to bring a light but waterproof raincoat.
Madagascar is a warm country: You need hats and flip flops when traveling and boots for trekking

8. Medical precautions:
- Please, before coming, contact your doctor for antimalaria tablets or medicines and for other medicines you always need to have with you when you travel, especially for chronic or pre-existing illnesses.
- If you suffer from fear of heights, you can only visit the Small Tsingy and the Manambolo River Gorge for the Tsingy of Bemaraha National Park since in the Big Tsingy there is one suspension bridge each in the 2 hikes available.
