The Tsiribihina River tour is a tour to the West of Madagascar. This canoe trip down the Tsiribihina River offers opportunity to see the Red fronted brown lemurs and the Verreaux’s Sifaka. The second day on this River tour allows a beautiful passage through the gorge of the Tsiribihina River. The lunch time at the Waterfall allows swims in a natural swimming pool. This camping trip allows photography of the beautiful sunset along the River. It also includes visit of the villages to see how the life of the people along the Tsiribihina River is. At the end of this canoeing tour, you will take a zebu cart to reach a remote little village. You will visit the Baobab trees all along the drive to Morondava and you will spend the sunset at the Avenue of Baobabs.

Rating 1: easy: this canoe trip along the Tsiribihina River is a relaxing break. You are required to carry your pack on and off the dugout canoe, up hotel steps, etc
Rating 2: easy to moderate: The last day on the River requires walking 1 to 2 hours but this is on mainly flat ground. To cross 2 Rivers and floods, you have to get on the zebu cart and the ride is a bit rough.

Third and last day on the river: see crocodiles, bats, lemurs and sifakas, baobab trees
Pass across the second gorge, see flying foxes (bats) and other bird species, crocodiles if lucky then lunch under some trees.
- Walk in the forest to see lemurs and sifakas.
- Finish the river trip once out of the second gorge
- Last night camping
NB: Another possibility is to take a zebu cart to Tsiraraka village, walk through remote villages then spend the third night in a basic bungalow where cold drinks are served under a baobab tree.

1. It is possible to drive straight from Tana to Miandrivazo if you have less time
2. It is possible to go down the river with only 2 nights camping and get to Tsingy on the 3rd day.
3. If you have less time, it’s possible to explore the Small and the Big Tsingy in 1 day which still requires 2 nights stay in the Hotel in the Tsingy.

5. Young and fit people instead of flying can take a taxi brousse back to Tana or Antsirabe to save money; check: Taxi brousse.
6. If don’t have any time to go to the beach, Morondava offers an opportunity to stay on the beach which is on the North of the city.
Also you can visit a fisher’s village of the Vezo people and know more about this nomad people who work on the sea, camp on small Islands and only go to Morondava to sell sea food.
