My name is ANDRY, I am 29 and I live with my family in a village called IVATO, nicely located as it is where the international airport is situated.
I was born at Ambohimahasoa village, in the South between Tana and Tulear.
I grew up in Tana where I finished my studies from the primary school until the Green University where I studied Management and Tourism from 1999 to 2001.
Till I was very young, I like communicating with people, I also learn foreign languages easily and this is how I learned to speak English:
A big team of American Protestant missionaries came into my village in 1995. Their goal was to spread the gospel in our village and at the same time they taught us how to play basket ball.
My will to speak English exploded when I wanted to talk to them but I could not! So I took an old English book from my mother with a title: “Practice makes progress” and I started to study English. Until now, this title still makes me improve my English by practicing with the tourists, by always reading different books about wildlife, culture…
Tourism has always been my dedication because even when I was young, my uncle used to take me with him for his trading across Madagascar and I travelled across the country sometimes in a taxi brousse and very often in an old truck. It was the first time I knew that I live in such a beautiful country!
I always wanted to show and to tell the people around me how nice and different every part of Madagascar is!
Tourism is the main income of Madagascar and I like the idea of supporting locally-owned businesses: hotels, restaurants, shops, tour guides…
Now, not only I reached my goal which is to guide and organize tours all around Madagascar but I can give job to different people in different places: boatmen, porters, local guides…
With my 7 years of experience when I worked during 5 years as a free lance guide and 2 years full time with Visit Mada Tours, I am convinced that I am the right person for the tourists who want to come and visit Madagascar.
I am dedicated to always do my best to offer good service for the tourists who come to visit Madagascar and this is for every budget.
2008 was my first year running my own local tour company and it was successful. All along the last season, I was very lucky to have met new tour guides who also have qualifications and experiences.
And it is a privilege for me to run a sustainable and responsible tourism to leave this unique and irreplaceable wildlife of my country which is Madagascar to the future generations.
This year again, I run a very big teamwork with the new guides who share my vision, who are dedicated, who have qualifications and to whom I could share my experiences from last year.
This is an opportunity for tourists to help the local people without worrying where does their money go! With a very good management, Madagascar Tour Guide want to give you the insurance that the win-win is not only between the tourists and we tour guides and organizer. It is our main conviction to firstly have win-win between us who are the tour guides, the drivers, the Boatmen, the porters and local guides in the remote National Parks…
Being the main and first income for Madagascar, Tourism must provide financial benefits to the local people who are farmers, fishermen for their goods consumed along your visit. Madagascar Tour Guide is a way to get close to the local Malagasy people. We are doing our possible to give advantage to all locally run businesses.
It is in our goal to allow you to pay the real cost of your stay in Madagascar as if you were traveling by yourself.
With the coming of the new tour guides, with the teamwork run with the qualified driver guides, with the arms of steel of our boatmen and porters… It is a real pleasure for us to make your visit and your stay in our country the most unforgettable, full of enjoyment and rich in discovery!
