Taxi Brousse
FOR REAL BACKPACKERS ONLY:
Taxi Brousses are cars which connect the provinces to the center (Tana), the capital of Madagascar.
Our government’s main goal was to fix the roads over the last 4 years and the result is worth the effort made.
Now, between 2 provinces or 2 National parks, you can travel by taxi brousse. I have listed the departure and arrival times of taxi brousses which would make your trip cheaper than taking a plane.
YOU CAN SAVE AROUND 100 EUROS PER PERSON INSTEAD OF FLYING!
Note that it’s possible for me to book a better seat for you, for example, one with more space or the quietest seat behind the driver.
If you are fit enough to spend a maximum of 12 hours in a taxi brousse, paying for 3 seats for 2 people is still more worthwhile than paying over 100 Euros per flight per person .
This is a very interesting way to travel because you stop at villages for lunch or dinner, meet people and learn more about Malagasy everyday life.
