This whale watching tour to Sainte Marie Island allows visit of Andasibe National Park. Madagascar is the Best place in the World to go Whale Watching!
The quiet and warm sea between Soanierana Ivongo and Sainte Marie Island is the paradise for the hump back whales which come in group every year to have babies. This is the best place where you don’t need any luck to see the biggest mammals in the World.
After your 2 days visit of Andasibe National Park and one overnight in a Beach front Hotel in Mahambo in the East coast of Madagascar, you will travel by speed boat to Sainte Marie Island. Along this boat trip to Sainte Marie Island, you can already see the hump backed Whales. Once in Sainte Marie Island, you can organize your Whale watching from your Hotel.

Rating 3: easy to moderate: the 2 to 3 hours hike called “Indri 1” in Andasibe is easy, but there is a little elevation gain or loss, occasional steep trails so a basic level of aerobic fitness is required.
Rating 4: moderate: the 5 to 6 hours called “Adventure circuit” requires good level of fitness. Fitter you are, more you will enjoy your hike
Circuit: Tana to Andasibe National Park - Mahambo Beach - Drive to Soanierana Ivongo - Ferry to Sainte Marie Island.
Circuit starts a day after arrival or on arrival at the international airport.
Day 1: Drive to Andasibe National Park
Meet at the hotel then drive from Tana to the most visited rain forest in Madagascar which is Andasibe – Mantadia National Park.
- Morning visit at a reptile farm to see the entire species of chameleons in Madagascar.
(Lunch after the visit at a restaurant then drive to Andasibe)
- Possibility to go on a night walk to look for nocturnal lemurs like the mouse lemur and other species of chameleons
- Overnight at the hotel

Day 2: Visit of Andasibe National Park

- Back to the hotel, have lunch
- From 2 PM, drive to Vakona’s Park; take a dugout canoe to visit the islands of lemurs
To see: Ruffed lemurs, ring tailed lemurs, brown lemurs, bamboo lemurs, birds,
the famous fossa (a dog looking animal which is the Lemur’s main predator) …etc
- Overnight at the hotel
