Tour description:
This tour to the East of Madagascar includes visit of Andasibe National Park to see the Indri Indri and the other species of the unique Lemurs of Madagascar. This park is very reach in its flora like the rare orchids of Madagascar.
This Green tour includes visit to the reptile’s park to see the chameleons of Madagascar. The visit of the Vakona private parks allows close Lemurs photography.
Also, this circuit takes you to Soanierana Ivongo where speed boats leave to Sainte Marie Island and it is where you can reach Sainte Marie Island by speed boat. Whale watching is the best activity in Sainte Marie Island or you can just chill on the Beach or take a ride with bicycles to visit Sainte Marie Island.
Depending on your choice of hike
Rating 3: easy to moderate: the 2 to 3 hours hike called “Indri tour” in Andasibe is easy, but there little elevation gain or loss, occasional steep trails so a basic level of aerobic fitness is required.
Rating 4: moderate: the 5 to 6 hours hike called “Adventure circuit” requires good level of fitness. Fitter you are, more you will enjoy your hike
Circuit: Tana to Andasibe National Park - Mahambo Beach - Drive to Soanierana Ivongo - Ferry to Sainte Marie Island.
Starts a day after arrival or on arrival at the international airport.
Day 1: Drive to Andasibe National Park (145 Kms, 3 hours drive)
Meet at the hotel then drive from Tana to Andasibe National Park.
- Visit of a reptile’s farm to see the whole species of chameleons in Madagascar, 2 species of Lemurs, leaf tailed geckos and snakes…
- Drive to Andasibe, possibility to manage a night walk out of the National Park with a local guide: mouse Lemurs, chameleons, frogs…
- Overnight at the hotel

Day 2: Visit of Andasibe National Park
After breakfast:
- Morning visit of Andasibe National Park (2 to 5 hours walk)
To see: Indri Indri, different species of other lemurs, birds, orchids…
- Back to the hotel, have lunch
- From 2 PM, drive to Vakona’s Park; take a dug out to visit Islands of lemurs
To see: Ruffed lemurs, ring tailed lemurs, brown lemurs, bamboo lemurs,
the famous fossa, birds, crocodiles …etc
- Overnight at the hotel

- I suggest starting with Indri Tour before going to the South or to the West of Madagascar.
