Tour description:
The RN7 is the National road from Tana to Tulear in the South West of Madagascar. This tour to the South of Madagascar includes visit of Ranomafana National Park. The hike in Ranomafana National Park allows visit of one of the rainforests in Madagascar which is home to several species of Lemurs and other wildlife. The highlight of this RN7 tour is the visit of Isalo National Park. The trek in Isalo National Park takes you to the beautiful landscape of infinite sandstones of Isalo. The natural swimming pool in Isalo National Park and its canyons of Lemurs and waterfalls make the visit to Isalo National Park one of the best places to visit in Madagascar.

Rating 4: moderate: the 5 to 6 hours hike in Ranomafana National Park requires good level of fitness. Fitter you are, more you will enjoy your hike with steep ups and downs.
Circuit: Tana – Antsirabe – Ranomafana National Park – Ambalavao – Isalo National Park – Tulear – Anakao Beach or Ifaty Beach
The visit starts a day after arrival or on arrival at the international airport.
Day 1: Drive from Tana to Antsirabe
Tana-Antsirabe: 175 kms distance, 3 and a half hours drive
- Drive from Tana to Antsirabe, see handicraft market on the way, beautiful landscape of the Merina tribe area, the everyday life of the Merina people.
- Visit of Antsirabe: the hot spring city with its rickshaws, semiprecious stones, lakes…
- Overnight in the Hotel.

Day 2: Drive from Antsirabe to Ranomafana National Park
Drive to Ranomafana National Park (5 hours drive)

Possibility to go on a night walk to see some species of chameleons, frogs and the mouse Lemur if lucky

Day 3: Visit of Ranomafana National Park

Day 4: Drive to Isalo National Park and visit of Ambalavao and Anja Park
- Morning visit of the Traditional Wild Silk factory and boutique
- Visit of the Traditional Antemoro Paper factory and Boutique, if Wednesday: visit on of the biggest zebu market of Madagascar.
- On the way to Isalo National Park, visit of Anja Park
To see: ring tailed Lemur, ground and tree chameleons, caves, traditional Bara family tomb, nice view point on the top of the rock were you can have a picnic lunch
After the visit of Anja Park, drive to Isalo National Park, possibility to spend the sunset at the famous Window of Isalo for sunset photography.

Day 5: Full day visit of Isalo National Park

Day 6: Drive from Isalo national Park to Tulear
- Another morning visit of the Canyons des Makis.

- Drive to Tulear and see Baobab trees on the way, other tombs of the Bara and the Antandroy tribes are seen on the side of the road to Tulear

If you want to go to the beach to relax or to dive in the coral reef, I suggest taking a speed boat to Anakao which is in the South of Tulear.

2- If you would like to visit the Baobab trees or the Tsingy of Bemaraha Nationa Park, you can fly from Tulear to Morondava. Please have a look at our West tours.
3- When you visit Anakao, Longo Vezo Anakao it is better to book a speed boat from Tulear, they will give you a round boat trip free to visit Nosy Ve Island in front of Anakao.
4- For backpackers, If you are fit enough to travel with taxi brousse, there is a departure everyday from Tulear to Tana which will save money. Check Taxi Brousse.
